The magnifier function

PopChar includes a magnifier option that reveals more details about a character from the character list on mouseover. To activate this feature, click the magnifier icon in the bottom left corner of the character list view.

Enhance your workflow with detailed character information

Once activated, the magnifier provides a pop-up with comprehensive details on mouseover for each character. You'll gain insights into:

  • Character name: Understand the exact name of the symbol.
  • Unicode number: Easily find its Unicode number for programming and design purposes.
  • HTML and Swift usage: Learn how to use the character in HTML or Swift coding.
  • Keyboard shortcuts: If the character can be typed directly with your keyboard, the shortcut will be displayed.

Powertip: toggle the magnifier pop-up with ease

For additional convenience, you can easily show or hide the magnifier pop-up window by pressing the SHIFT key.
